Siouxland Fly Fishing is a group of people who enjoy fly fishing and tying their own artificial flies.  We are a loose organization with no officers or committees. When someone has a place to go fishing, that person is in charge of details for that fishing outing. Each Spring a list of activities is made and posted in the ‘events’ section of the web page. This is a tentative schedule which can be changed throughout the summer due to weather, additions, or conflicts. If you have questions on a scheduled date, get in touch with the host of the event. Other members might be able to help you also.  An e-mail is sent a few days before an outing as a reminder. Be sure to give your notification information so we can update you of changes. Are you new to fly fishing and need some pointers on casting or want to learn how to tie flies? Members will help you improve your skills. From 9:00 a. m. to 10:00 a. m. April to September, we have fly casting practice at Riverside park in Sioux City, IA and October through March there is fly tying at the Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center. The center is two miles north of the Military Rd. and Riverside Blvd. intersection in Sioux City, IA, on Highway 12 going towards Stone State Park. This hour precedes the monthly meeting held the last Saturday of each month at the Center, 10:00 a. m. to noon. At the monthly meeting, we exchange ideas for making flies and new materials that can be used. At each meeting there is usually a program which can be on various topics. New places to fish are discussed and plans made for another great fishing outing. Since we have mostly warm water fishing in our area, we fish for bass, crappie, blue gill, catfish, perch, northern, musky, carp, and any other species you would find in Midwest rivers, lakes and ponds. Two area lakes in Sioux City, IA, and So. Slioux City, NE, are stocked with trout by Iowa an Nebraska hatcheries. See the photo section for fish caught by our members. For information, you can get in touch with us using the email address below. If you have something to include or find an error on the web page, notify the webmaster. If you know of a fly fishing expo or similar event, send the event name, place, and date for the events page. Any details or scheduling will also be helpful.
